So I finally saw the Elementary pilot. It was all right. In fact some parts of it I liked better than Sherlock (sshhh), like the music, and the fact that Sherlock wasn’t rude all the time; he retained the bare minimum of civility that allowed him to work with other people, I guess like canon!Holmes does. But all discussion of canon vs. non canon is pretty much moot at this point, so all I want to say is that Lucy Liu is so beautiful and arresting that I cannot look away when her face is on focus and she’s projecting all of this restrained emotion; that I cannot stop seeing Julie Baker’s dad whenever I look at Inspector Gregson; and that I wouldn’t mind seeing another episode.
